VISITATION: 5-8 PM SUNDAY AT OTT AND LEE FUNERAL HOME IN FOREST AND 9 AM MONDAY AT MT. CARMEL BAPTIST CHURCH
Irene Mavis Batte, 91 passed away Friday April 24, 2015 at her residence in Smith County. A sweet angel was called home to heaven to be joined by her husband, Jack Batte; grandson, Greg Batte and brothers, Frank Jordan and Lamar Jordan. Visitation is 5-8 pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest and 9 am Monday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Smith County. Services are 10 am Monday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Batte was a native and lifelong resident of Smith County and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was a very caring person who loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruby Rayner of Brandon; sons, Bennie Batte (Virginia) of Forest, Bill Batte (Pat) of Forest, Larry Batte (Judy) of Raleigh and Frank Batte (Pam) of Forest; brother, Leonard Jordan (Annie) of Pelahatchie; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; special family friends, Lynn and Brandon Harris of Forest.
