Isabel Spencer Saunders died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Brandon Court. She was born October 9, 1913 in Ridgeland, MS to John and Dora Spencer. Her grandfather, Judson David Miner was Mayor of Ridgeland. She was the oldest of six siblings. The youngest, Marion Spencer (Mary Sue) survives her. The family moved to Jackson where Mrs. Saunders spent most of her life.

Mrs. Saunders was employed as bookkeeper for McKesson’s for nearly forty years, retiring in 1978.
She was an active member of St. Columbs Episcopal Church and was a charter member of St. Mary’s Chapter of the Daughters of the King. She moved to the Reservoir area in 1987, where she was a faithful member of St. Peter’s-by-the-Lake Episcopal Church.

The funeral will be held at St. Peter’s By the Lake Episcopal Church, Spillway Road, on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 with visitation at 11:00 am and the service following at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at City Cemetery, Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

Mrs. Saunders is survived by her daughter Cathryn “Kitty” McCleave (Billy) and son Lockwood Saunders (Marie) and by grandchildren, William McCleave (Gwen), Steve McCleave, Cathy M. Giroux (Peter), Christopher Saunders (Sabrina), Tegan Holly, Harrison Saunders and Gillian Saunders; also by great grandchildren, Josh McCleave (Rachel), Jamie McCleave, Alex Giroux, Parker Giroux and Georgiana Giroux, and one great- great- grandchild, Caten Isabel McCleave.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s by the Lake Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 5026, Brandon, Mississippi 39047.
