J. Bynum

Mr. J.W. Bynum, age 89, and a resident of Pelahatchie passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.

Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Eastside Baptist Cemetery at Pelahatchie under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Bro. Bill Prestage will officiate.

Mr. Bynum, a retired heavy equipment operator was a native of Simpson County. He enjoyed working in his yard, attending horse sales and heavy equipment sales. He was a member of Barefoot Springs Baptist Church and will be remembered as a man who loved his family and spending time with them brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Mrs. Dorothy Bynum; three children: Jeannie (Curtis) Coleman, Joe (Brenda) Bynum, and Ken (Donna) Bynum; eight   grandchildren: Gail Johnson, her (Les), Casey Poole  (Kevin), Kayla Vandorford,(Jeremy) Cameron Coleman,(Brittany )Brad Bynum, (Andrea)and Corey Bynum( Ashley); eleven great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother: Dale Bynum; and a host of other family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents: Matt W. and Mary E. Middleton Bynum; one daughter: Shelia Bowman and his siblings: Martha Hall, Grace Steadham, Johnny Bynum, Bo Bynum, and Mack Bynum.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Hall, John Bynum, Vince Bynum, Brent Bowman, Sidney Lum, and Austin Brunt.
