Jack Brooks Lacy Jr., 68, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at his home in Brandon.
Jack Lacy was born in Madison County, Mississippi on August 15, 1943 to the late Jack Brooks and Audrey Lacy Sr. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with two separate degrees. He earned an English Literature degree in 1968 that enabled him to remain at the University to teach for fourteen years. His Juris Doctorate degree from Ole Miss Law School allowed him to practice law as a government attorney who defended the innocent. His last appointment as an Assistant U.S. Attorney was to work exclusively prosecuting crimes for the MS Band of Choctaw Indians.
Jack is survived by his wife, Patricia; two stepsons, Benjamin and Samuel; two sons, Brooks and Stuart; one daughter, Anna Katherine; two grandchildren, Bennett and Etienne; and two sisters, Linsey and Tempe and friends too numerable to mention. His absence will be greatly felt.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 5971 Mississippi 25, Flowood, MS with a Funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. Burial will be privately held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Catholic Charities, 200 N. Congress St., Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39201.
