Jack Dennis Wade, born on July 29, 1926, went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2012 after a year-long battle with cancer. He parted this world peacefully with his wife at his side in his home in Leesburg. He was a proud veteran of WWII during which he served the US Navy as an underwater demolitionist and frogman. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the funeral home.
Jack was a beloved member of the Leesburg community known for his stories about his world travels and his career as a WWII veteran. His family will always remember him as their patriarch and their model for a life lived in the grace of Jesus Christ. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Betty Wade, his two children, son, Barry Wade and his wife Linda and daughter, Terri Wade Ellingburg and her husband Eddie, his sisters, Francis Wade Munn and Ann Wade Risher, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
