Jackie Sims, 65, a resident of Meridian, MS died Friday, November 27, 2015 in Jackson, MS. A private family graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Sims was born July 1, 1950 to George Overbey, Sr. and Maxie Owens Overbey. She was married to Ronnie Sims. Mrs. Sims was the church organist at State Boulevard Baptist Church for 10 years. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her father, George Overbey, Sr. and her sister, Judy Overbey Reese.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronnie Sims; daughter, Shannon Sims (Lee) Kimbriel; mother, Maxie Owens Overbey; brother, George “Sonny” Overbey, II and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Village 805 N Flag Chapel Rd, Jackson, MS 39209.
