Jackie Dee "Jack" Wyrick

Jack D Wyrick, 92, of Brandon, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, October 9th, with family by his side. He was born May 14, 1932 in Marlow, Oklahoma. Jack grew up in Norman, Oklahoma so was naturally a devoted Sooner fan.

Jack began his long career with Masters-Mayflower Moving Company in 1950. After becoming part owner of the company in 1960, Jack moved his family to Shawnee, Oklahoma to run the Shawnee operation. While in Shawnee, Jack was active in his community, donating his time in service to the school board, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts and University Baptist Church. In December of 1970, Jack opened the third Masters branch in Oklahoma City, which quickly became the largest branch of the company. Along the road to his retirement in 2000, Jack received a number of national awards, including Mayflower Man of the Year in 1971. Again, Jack became active with the Chamber of Commerce and the Quail Springs Baptist Church.

Jack was a kind and gentle man, who was dedicated to his lovely wife Evelyn, his sons and his faith. He made friends easily and was popular with his employees. In 2017, Jack moved to Brandon, MS to be closer to his family.

Jack is survived by his sons, Mike (Diana) of Brandon and Phil (Phoenix, AZ); his grandchildren, Joshua, Austin and Amber; his great grandchildren Madelynn, Sarah, London, Lane, Logan and Evelyn.

Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Afterward, Jack will begin his long trip home to be laid to rest by his beloved wife, Evelyn, in Noble, OK. A graveside service will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, we recommend a tribute donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
