Jack O’Neal Traxler passed from this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Huffman Traxler, three daughters: Terri Buckelew (Rodney), Lisa Windham (George), and Melaney Myers. He leaves behind four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, brother Edward Traxler (Jackie) and sister Rena Wood (Marvin), and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Troy and Rachel Traxler, brother Paul Traxler, sisters Becky Neal and Jane Denson. Visitation was held held 9am -1pm Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. A service of sharing memories was held at 1pm Sat. in the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton. Graveside service were held at 2pm at Piney Grove Cemetery.

Jack was born on September 11, 1937. He was retired from the USDA after serving for 40 years as an inspector. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He loved sports and enjoyed listening to the Golden Eagles play every weekend. A life-long member of Polkville United Pentecostal Church, he believed that a man should preach his own funeral by the life he lived. Jack loved God and his family and will be sorely missed. Memorials may be made to Polkville United Pentecostal Church in lieu of flowers.
