It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Jacqueline Leigh “Jackie” Griffing Evans announces her passing after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the age of 40.

Jackie was born July 29, 1978 in Flowood, Mississippi. She attended Northwest Rankin. At an early age Jackie professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Oakdale Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. Jackie enjoyed singing solos at Oakdale, and was an active member of Sunday school throughout her life.

Jackie enjoyed fourteen years of teaching children at Oakdale Elementary, Highland Bluff Elementary, and Northwest Rankin Elementary. She was awarded and honored for her dedication throughout her many years of teaching; but felt that the biggest blessings were the close friendships she developed. Jackie was most recently employed by Regions Bank. Jackie’s most important job and strongest commitment was in the role of mother to her three children. Jackie exemplified courage, forgiveness, honesty, love, and strong character throughout her life.

Jackie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Jordan Thomas Evans, Jorja Leigh Evans, and Jaxon Joseph Evans; her husband, Justin Thomas Evans; her mother, Nola Davis Griffing; her brother, Ronnie Griffing (Trish); her sister, Bethany Griffing Lane (David); her brother, Jon Griffing (Louise); nieces and nephews, Tyler Griffing, Morgan Griffing, Seth Griffing, Lilah Lane, Greenlee Griffing, Wills Lane, Gray Lane, Stellablue Griffing, and Rainey Maize Griffing; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; Susan Bayles Iupe, Mother- in-law; Nikki Evans Ramshur, sister-in-law; Scott Evans (Mary Elizabeth), brother-in-law; Nieces/nephews: Brooklynn and London Ramshur; Mary Clyde, James Ward, and Grey Evans.
