James A. Crotwell, age 84, a resident of Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his residence. Visitation was held 5pm-9:30pm Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 8am-11am Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service was held 11am Friday, January 17, 2014 at Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Pulaski Independent Methodist Cemetery. Rev. James Mitchell and Rev. Curtis Moffett officiated the services.
James was born on February 13, 1929 and spent his entire life in the Pulaski Community. He was a lifelong member of Pulaski Independent Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband and loving father who loved hunting, fishing and gospel music. He was employed at Talon Inc. and retired from Morton Attendance Center where he was head maintenance and custodian. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lucille Lum Crotwell; parents, Grover Alexander Crotwell and Ruby Eliza Ann Mangum Crotwell; son, Jerry Crotwell and 2 brothers, Johnny and Mangum Crotwell.
He is survived by his 2 children, Kendall Crotwell and wife, Kim, of Pulaski and Terry Crotwell of Pulaski; sister, Julia Louise Miles of Montgomery, Alabama; 2 grandchildren, Nicole and Andrea Sullivan; nieces, Robin Crotwell, Ann Miles Scheer, Donna Miles Hall, Patricia Prestage Arthur, Rebekah Prestage and Angela Spears; nephews, Glen Miles, George Miles, Nathan Miles, John Crotwell, Richard Prestage and Dwayne Prestage; special friend, Sam Hannah; care taker and friend, Donita Wilder; a host of great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Wendell McCaughn, Tyler McCaughn, John Crotwell, Dwayne Prestage, Glen Miles, Richard Prestage, Grady Carl Boozer and Steven Crotwell.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Pulaski Independent Methodist Church.
