Mr. Jimmy Gray, age 64, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at his residence. Visitation was held 5-9pm Monday, July 18, 2011 from Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 11am Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Pelahatchie City Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Hamilton and Bro. Billy Ray Parker officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Jimmy was born in Dallas, TX in 1946. He loved to be in the serenity of nature hunting deer and elk. He was the owner of Gray’s Glass Company in Forest for many years. Jimmy has made many friends throughout the years at his dirt drag racing track in Pelahatchie. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Gray and his daughter, Annette Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Irby Gray of Pelahatchie; mother, Mary Louise Edwards Gray of Pelahatchie; children, Leonard Gray of Pelahatchie, Jeff Gray (Amy) of Brandon, Cameron Measels of Pelahatchie and Kellie Shoemaker of Pelahatchie; sister, Bettye Till (Larry) of Pelahatchie; 11 grandchildren, Mathew Gray, Leea Gray, Sarah Norsworthy, Nora Gray, Ashley Franklin, Heather Bunch, Cameron Bunch, Kimberly Measels, Tori Shoemaker, Chandler Mosley and Dillon Parker; 4 great grandchildren, Taylor Franklin, Jena Franklin, Marlie Conn and Jaden Norsworthy; his dog he loved very much, Katie and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Tommy Shedd, Corbert Hollingsworth, Johnny Rosamond, Cortis Jordan, Don Tucker, Tony King, Tracy Phillips and Larry Townsend. Honorary pallbearers were James Bowman and Vernell Goldman.
