James Harvey

Mr. James Walter Harvey, age 75, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Highland Home in Madison.  Visitation will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton from  5:00 pm-8:00 pm  and Sunday 2:00pm-3:00 pm at Barefoot Springs Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.  Bro. Bill Prestage will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Harvey was born on December 24, 1945.  He grew up in the Delta and moved to Pelahatchie when he married his sweetheart, Joan Massey Harvey.  James enjoyed playing the guitar and visiting his friends and family and talking about his adventures in life.  One of his favorite things to do was get on his tractor and cut grass.  He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. Harvey and Mavis Burchfield Harvey; sister, Katherine Campbell; brothers, Wardell & Bruce Harvey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Harvey; daughter, Lora Walter and husband, Kurt of Pearl; granddaughter, Katelyn Walter of Pearl; brothers, John H., Tommy, Billy R. and William M. Harvey; sisters, Geraldine Richardson and Joy Youngblood and a host of friends.
