James Omar Hollingsworth, 74, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation is 9 am today, October 22, 2013, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 10 am from the Chapel of Ott and Lee with burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
James Omar Hollingsworth was born in Lake, MS on November 13, 1938 to the late Robert Sheril Hollingsworth and Orene Parker Hollingsworth Robinson. He served in the U. S. Navy as a machinist apprentice. He had been a resident of the Brandon area since 1982. He was co-owner of Novelty Machine Works for over 40 years. He was a Baptist; a hard worker ; a lover of animals; an avid hunter and fisherman; and a favorite saying was “I feel good”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alice Faye Hollingsworth Walker; and his wife, Laura Ann Hollingsworth.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Lathem (Mike) of Edwards, MS, Julia Flippin (James) of Canton, MS, and James Michael Hollingsworth of Brandon, MS; a sister, Marie Lodes of Brandon, MS; two brothers, Edward Robinson and Johnny Robinson both of Florence, MS; three grandchildren, Tiffany Mobley (Matthew) , Trey Lathem and Kelly Flippin; and three great grandchildren, Gage Mobley, Katlyn Tucker and Gauge Tucker.
