James Douglass Hudgens (Jim) was born in Oklahoma City to Gene & Jane Hudgens. His family eventually moved to Jackson where he attended Provine High School. He retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 30 years of enlistment and working full time for the Guard. Some of his best memories were of the time spent with his guard friends. His competition cooking team was called the Grill Sergeants. They competed in multiple contests and Jim loved cooking. He was very proud of his sons, Mike & Steve. His grandchildren were his heart. He built a pool so all of them would learn to swim and congregate at our house.
He is survived by his wife (Linda), his sons Mike (Carol), Steve (Jane), grandchildren Shane (Barclay), Haley Hudgens, Belinda Thompson, Jeremy Thompson (Penny), great grandchildren, Colby Hudgens, Barrett Hudgens, Milo Thompson, Sean Pearce (Autumn), Garrett Pearce, Lexie Pearce, Elizabeth Pearce, Morgan Thompson (Tressie), Peyton Thompson (Kourtney). His sister Janet Bass (Bob) & brother Gary Hudgens. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father & mother, Rick (brother) and Peggy (sister-in-law).
Jim would say that the best thing he ever did was accepting Jesus Christ as his savior.
