James Richard “Jim” Denson
James Richard “Jim” Denson was born in Key West, Florida, in 1947. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Jim retired from the General Services Administration. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and working around his property. Jim was also active in his church for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Jane Denson; his parents, Fred W. Denson and Martha G. Denson; and his sister, Sandra Jaco.
Jim is survived by his two children, Richie Denson (Andrea) of Gluckstadt and Jim Denson (Michelle) of Gluckstadt; his brother, Don Denson (Nancy) of Petal, MS; five grandchildren, Adam Denson (Shelby), Will Denson, Janey Denson, Anna Denson, and Bailey Denson; one great-granddaughter, Adley Denson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Christopher Boone, Neal Wood, Logan White, Scott Sellers, Courtney Buckelew and Trey Glaze.
Visitation was held 5pm-8pm Friday, March 21, 2025 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Chapel service was held 11am Saturday, March 22, 2025 from the Ott and Lee Chapel in Morton. Military graveside was held at Ludlow Cemetery following the chapel service.
