James Lawrence Harvey

James Lawrence Harvey, age 78, of Pearl, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on March 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Lawrence was born on November 10, 1946, in Brandon, Mississippi, to James Luther Harvey and Vera Franklin Harvey Bryant. He was a 1965 graduate of Pearl High School and went on to serve in the Navy Reserves. Lawrence married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Goldman Harvey, on May 29, 1965, and together they shared a loving and devoted marriage. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Delta Airlines, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.

A born-again Christian, Lawrence was a faithful member of the Baptist faith throughout his life. He cherished his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Goldman Harvey; children, Kimberly Harvey Amason (Randall), and Todd Ashley Harvey (Christel Bass Harvey); grandchildren, Randa Amason Neal (Jake), Timothy Cole Harvey (Niki), Robert Nicholas Turner (Shalynn), Kylee Harvey Overton (Aubrey), and Thomas Ashley Harvey; great-grandchildren Harper Cole Harvey and Lucy Vera Neal. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Luther Harvey and Vera Franklin Harvey Bryant; son, Lawrence Timothy Harvey; and daughter-in-law, Lori Hall Harvey.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Pearl, at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Pearl, 405 N. Bierdeman Road, Pearl, MS, 39208.
