James Reid

James Reid, age 31, and a lifelong resident of Forest died February 23, 2021.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30pm from the Antioch-Steele Cemetery on Wednesday, March  10, 2021, following the Visitation at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest beginning at 1pm to 3pm.

James was born in Jackson, MS on May 31, 1989, to his parents, David Reid and Alice Awtry Reid.  He was a Repairman for Mid-MS Sales & Services, utilizing his excellent mechanical skills.  James and his family attended Hillcrest Church in Forest.  He enjoyed being with family and visiting friends, and loved the great outdoors.  James was a quiet compassionate man always willing to help anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Frank Schreiber.

Survivors include his wife, Marley Thornton Reid, daughters; Melissa Reid, Goldie Reid, and step-daughter, Jennie Frith all of Forest.  He is also survived by his father, David Reid, two brothers; Pedo Reid, Benny Reid, six sisters; Debbie Cochran (James), Starla Hurd, Cynthia Daniels (Jason), Ruth Scheu (Josh),  Patsy Sylias, and Jammie Hamilton (John).

Pallbearers are John  Hamilton, Ruben Reid, Zack Reid, Cole Reid, Christopher Reid, and Irby Marler.  Honorary pallbearers are his daughters.
