James Cline Stone, 78, a resident of Ludlow died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Ludlow Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the funeral home in Morton. Dr. Billy McKay will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stone was a lifelong resident of the Ludlow community. He was born on August 18, 1935 to Henry Cline and Frankie Lee Stone. He was an active member of Ludlow Baptist Church. He worked at Eaton Aerospace Corporation for 47 years. He was best known by his coworkers as everybody’s favorite “Weather Man”.

Mr. Stone will always be remembered for his generosity, care and concern he showed to others. He spent the last 9 years of his retirement doing what he loved the most, such as gardening, watching his favorite college football teams with Uncle Dick, visiting people in need, and spending quality time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He has left a lasting legacy to his children and grandchildren that they will not soon forget. Our “Big Daddy” will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cline and Frankie Lee Stone.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Clara E. Stone; son, Kip Stone and his wife Sharon and their children, Cline, Kevin and Claire Stone; daughter, Cami Stone-Hill and her husband Brian and their children, Caroline and Harrison Hill; sister, Elaine Warwick and her husband Dick; step daughters, Robin Brown and her husband Donald and Kathy Coleman and her husband Sammy; step son, James Hollingsworth; nephew, Alan Warwick; 7 Step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren and a host of friends.
