James Wade
March 21, 1935 — December 8, 2016
James Leon Wade, of Lake, MS, went to be with the Lord on December 08, 2016, after an extended illness. Visitation will be on Saturday December 10, 2016 from 5:30pm to 8pm at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 11, 2016 at 2pm at First Baptist Church, Lake, MS followed by a graveside service at Springfield Baptist Church, Morton, MS.
James Wade was born on March 21, 1935, and was married 61 years to his beloved wife Sarah McCann Wade. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lake, MS for many years where he served as a deacon and was active in the men's ministry there. He loved sports, the Lake Hornets (where he kept score books for them and even traveled to away games up into his 70's), gardening and fishing, but even more he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife, family and those the Lord placed in his path.
James Wade is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah McCann Wade; his parents, Eddie and Conolia Wade; two daughters, Sarah Frances Wade and Betty June Wade; two brothers, Joyner Wade and Melvin Wade. He is survived by a son, James Ronnie Wade, of Gulfport; two daughters, Brenda Wade Revette (Nick), of Lake; and Mary Wade Rogers (Bob), of Hattiesburg; his brother, Ronald Wade (Aline) of Morton; seven grandchildren, Rev. Kevin Wade (Jessica), Jonathan Wade (Kristen), Brian Revette, Mandy Revette Landrum (Tony), Melissa Rogers Dalton (Steven), Lauren Rogers Knight (Philip), and Wade Rogers (Devan); thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions or the church’s building fund through First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, Lake, MS 39092
