James Wallace Prestage, age 61, a lifelong resident of Rankin County, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at UMMC Specialty Select Hospital in Jackson, MS following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm, Monday, May 17, 2021 from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Morton with interment to follow in the Farm Rest Cemetery. Bro. Billy Ray Parker and Allen Prestage will officiate. Visitation will be held form 5pm until 8pm Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the funeral home and again Monday from 12pm till the service time.
Wallace as he was known by most everyone, was born to his parents James Prestage and Betty Stewart Manor in Jackson, MS on April 11, 1960 and raised by his grandparents Louis and Flossie Prestage. He worked for Dynamic Environmental as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Flossie Prestage, parents James Prestage and Betty Stewart Manor, brother Jeff Prestage and greatgrandson, Omari Barnes.
Survivors include his partner of 13 years, Mona Gail Collins of Lena, Sister Winderford Anderson (Eddie) of Lena, 3 children; Jason Wallace Prestage of Lena, Tonya Reid (Jimmy) of Morton, and Melany Edwards (Cody) of Raymond. He also leaves a legacy of 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchild and 9 bonus grandchildren and 5 bonus children: Zach Collins, Ryan Collins, and Kayla Collins, Ashley Morris, Jennifer Morris and host of Nieces Nephews cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are: Zach Collins, Wayne Irwin, Zachary Reid, Kayden Collins, Gary Hawkins, and Ryan Collins. Honorary pallbearers are Toby Wood, Landon Reid, Ripkin Collins, Faith Edwards, Hunter Reid, Carson Collins, Cash Collins, Patton Collins, Kalo Alexander, Kham Alexander, Anna Alexander, Lottie Ryan Collins, Madelynn Barnes and Ava’Rose Watford.
