James L. “Jimmy” Weathersby, 64, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Visitation is 5-8 pm Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 10 am Tuesday at Fannin Baptist Church with services at 11 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Ron Byrd will officiate.

Jimmy was a native of Copiah County and a longtime resident of Rankin County and was a member of Fannin Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed raising cattle and horses. A favorite pastime of his was being involved in the rodeo for many years. Jimmy was a very caring family man who loved his wife and children very much. He had a very special devotion to his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Gail Weathersby of Brandon; daughters, Becky Chaumont and companion Marcus Allbright of Sulphur, LA and Christi Georgie and husband William of Port Neches, TX; brother, Bob Weathersby and wife Jan of Ridgeland; sister, Edith Merle Brown of Utica; grandchildren, Brianna, Bailey and Garrett; nephews, Chad Weathersby and Chris Mills. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
