James Wynne

August 21, 1936 — February 27, 2014

James A. Wynne, 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at St. Dominic's Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Fri. Feb. 28, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, and Sat. March 1, 2014 from 10am-10:45am at Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am Sat. March 1, 2014, at Brandon Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Mr. Wynne was born August 21, 1936, in Jackson, MS. He spent his childhood in Richland, MS, and joined the Army in 1954. He was stationed in Hawaii for three years and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1996 where he received the Meritorious Service Medal. He worked as a Quality Engineer at Vickers, now Eaton Corp., and retired after forty years of service.

James was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He was a faithful member of Brandon Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Teague and Cordell Wynne, brother, Johnny Wynne, and grandson, Michael Loyd. He is survived by three sisters, Betty McKinley, Janelle Jones, and Linda Patrick. He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn, of 52 years, a son, Scott (Mona), daughters, Kim (Steve Pate), Sharon (Keith Runnels), and Amy Head; seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Regency Hospital for their exceptional care during his illness.
