James A McDowell (Jim), 63, of Brandon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 21, 2012, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 9:00am – 10:30am at the church prior to Mass.
Jim was a brilliant man of many talents. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, listening to Jazz and restoring old radios. While Jim loved his hobbies, his true passion was for his reservoir community. After his retirement from IBM, he devoted his time to becoming one of the biggest advocates for the reservoir by ensuring the community was represented and by preserving the good family fun it has to offer. Jim was a loving husband and father. He was a man of true wisdom and will continue to be loved and missed by his loving wife, Vicki; sons, Scott and Mike McDowell; daughter-in-law, Missy; and his many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn Graham McDowell.
