James Harold Miller, 80, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at his residence. Visitation is 5-8 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 10 am Thursday at Walker Hill Baptist Church. Services are 11 am Thursday at the church with at 2 pm graveside at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. Dr. Keith Grubbs and Rev. Jerry Owens will officiate.
Harold was a native of Copiah County and a longtime resident of Rankin County. He was a Faithful Member of Walker Hill Baptist Church and worked and retired from Colonial Bakery at 38 years of service. Harold was the “Rock” of his family and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Miller of Brandon; daughters, Pam Davenport of Brandon and Penny Thornton (Mike) of Brandon; son, Tommy Thornton (Shelia) of Crystal Springs; brother, Frank Miller of Indiana; grandchildren, Jarod Thornton and Jordan Davenport.
Pallbearers are Mike Roby, Monty Wilkinson, Robert Chain, Ben Christmas, Morris Tompkins and Arland Phillips.
The family request memorials to Walker Hill Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
