James "Jim" Kennedy

James “Jim” Ellison Kennedy, 96, a resident of Puckett, MS passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the State Veteran Home in Collins, MS surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Puckett Baptist Church with interment in the Puckett Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 9-9:45 pm Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Kennedy was born March 15, 1922 to Lonnie Ellison Kennedy and Annie Moore Kennedy. He was married to Bobbie Lorene Warren Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a carpenter by trade and built many houses in his many years of carpentry. He was a member of the Puckett Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Puckett. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Lorene Warren Kennedy; parents, Lonnie Ellison Kennedy and Annie Moore Kennedy; and his brother, JD Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his children, Carolyn (Russ) Espiritu and Venita White; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
