James "Jimmy" Denton

Mr. James "Jimmy" Otis Denton, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson MS. Visitation services were from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again from 9:00 am until 11:45 am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Funeral Home. There was a graveside service at 12 pm noon on Saturday, February 25, 2017 located at the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS officiated by Bro. Oscar McGough; with interment following the service located at Hodge Hill Cemetery.James or Jimmy as many called him was born to Otis and Myrtis Viola Hollingsworth Denton in Jackson, MS on February 16, 1961. He enjoyed his work and meeting people. He was well liked by his friends and family. Jimmy loved his family very much. He loved playing cards as one of his hobbies.He is preceded in death by his parents Otis and Myrtis Denton. He is survived by his two children, son Adam Denton of San Diego, CA and daughter Jamie Denton (Richard, Jr.) Collins of Florence, MS; his sister Theresa Denton of Brandon, MS; and his brother, Doug (Kathy) Denton of Brandon, MS; his three grandchildren, Richard Nathan Collins III, Alyssa Collins, and T.J. Collins.Serving as pallbearers were Matt Seaney, Steven Oswalt, Johnny Smith, Kenny Phillips, Richard Cain, Mark Harper and serving as honorary pallbearers are the Patriot Riders.
