Mr. James "Odis" Wilson, age 89 a resident of the Leesburg Community in Rankin County passed away on January 1, 2016 at Mississippi Care Center of Morton. Visitation will be held 4-8pm Sunday, January 03, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10:45am-11am on Monday at Leesburg Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, January 4, 2016 at Leesburg Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Billy Ray Parker, Bro. Joseph Oster and Bro. Marshall Presley will officate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Wilson was born in Rankin County on December 12, 1926. He loved to go to the nursing home and visit with people. Mr. Wilson enjoyed attending gospel singings and loved his Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class and his church family at Leesburg Baptist Church. He was always sitting on ready to go out to eat when asked and a couple of his favorite foods were fish and pizza. Mr. Wilson had a big caring heart and loved people. He will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Houston Elmo Wilson and Lennye A. Bates Wilson; 1st wife, Ethelene Aycock Wilson; 2nd wife, Mary Dell Latham Measells Wilson; son, James David Wilson; sister, Modean Irby; brother, Charles Ray Wilson and son-in-law, Ray Moore.
He is survived by his children, Gene Wilson (Patricia) of Leesburg, Glenda Moore of Leesburg, Mary Ann Madison (Ferrell) of Morton, June Wiskus (Bruce) of Morton, Mark Measells (Bobbie) of Morton, Glen Measells of Morton; daughter-in-law, Kathy Wilson Nazary, 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Presley, Mitchell Presley, Marshall Presley, Caleb Hall, Ryan Wilson, Clay Presley and J.D. McElroy. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan McElroy, Kaleb McElroy, Paden Oster and the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Leesburg Baptist Church.
