James Nickles, 95, passed away Sunday, October 18, at home. Visitation will be Friday, October 223, 2015 at 12 noon with Funeral Services at 1:30 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Nickles was born September 30, 1920 in Columbus, Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was an Army Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was co-owner of Nickles and Wells Construction Company of Jackson, MS with his longtime friend and business partner Paul Wells.
Mr. Nickles was a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church in Jackson for many years before transferring to Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie when he moved to Rankin County, MS.
Mr. Nickles was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen Lantis Nickles and his daughter, Carolyn Nickles Scott.
He is survived by his two son’s James R. Nickles, Jr. and wife, Marie of Brandon and Charles C. Nickles and wife, Inca of Pelahatchie, MS. Along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
