James Steven Russum

Mr. James Steven Russum, age 64, and a resident of Forest, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday. April 17, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Boyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodwater Baptist Cemetery in the Lemon Community under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:00 am – 10:45 am prior to the funeral service.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman and an amateur gun smith who will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his love for his family. He was a long-time employee of Walmart #1059 in Forest. Mr. Russum was a member of Goodwater Baptist Church. He was a Mason, holding membership with the Lake Masonic Lodge – George O. Riley #605, Free and Accepted Masons, and was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star - Forest Chapter #168.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Marissa Nanney Russum and his father: James Alton Russum.

He is survived by his mother: Nell Russum of Forest; one brother: Ricky (Lanay) Russum of Polkville; one niece: Diana (Timothy) Johnston of Brandon; one nephew: Daniel (Katie) Russum of Laurel; and three great-nieces: Charity and Hannah Johnston and Joanna Russum.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Russum, Timothy Johnston, Monty Hopkins, Edgar Bradford, Mack Adcox, Butch Barton, Jeff Barnes, and Richard Russum.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff, Employees, and Co-Workers of Walmart #1059, Forest, MS.

Memorial donations may be made to the Goodwater Cemetery Association.
