BURIAL: FLORAL HILLS MEMORY GARDENS
VISIT: 4-7 PM WEDNESDAY AND 12 NOON THURSDAY
Janell Lois Russum Cupstid, age 67 passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her home in Pearl, MS after a tough battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 4 pm until 7pm and again Thursday at 12 Noon at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Garden in Pearl, MS.
Janell was born in Jackson, MS on September 28, 1947. Janell was a life- long member of First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. She worked outside of the home until the year 2000. At that time she quit her job to stay home and help take care of her 3 grandchildren. She wanted to be with them after school each day and anytime that they were out of school. She also started keeping a few other children in her home. She loved each one of those children as if they were her own and she loved being a “Nana” to them all. Janell loved to work in the yard and she took great pride in growing all of her beautiful flowers. She also loved to decorate and re-do things and shared that gift with anyone who would allow her to paint their walls or redecorate their home. Janell was a wonderful servant of the Lord and so very faithful. She was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Nana that anyone could ever have and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Janell is survived by her mother, Dorothy Nell Russum of Pearl, MS.; her husband, Buddy Cupstid of Pearl, MS.; her two children, Derrick Cupstid and Jeannine Cupstid Shedd and her husband Jesse all of Pearl, MS. ; her three grandchildren, Natalie Shedd McClendon and her husband Tyler of Florence, MS., Justin Shedd, and Haley Shedd both of Pearl, MS. ; her two brothers, W.G. Russum of Pearl, MS. and Ronnie Russum and his wife Kay of Pelahatchie, MS. ; her sister, Judy Russum Dunlap of Pearl, MS. ; and a number of nieces and nephews. Janell is preceded in her death by her father, Woods Eastland Russum.
