Janelle Cox, age 86, a resident of Olive Branch, formerly of Forest, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Monday, February 13, 2017 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Steam Mill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10am Monday till the service time at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Lott will officiate.
Mrs. Cox was born in Neshoba County on March 10, 1930 to her parents Thomas Sistrunk and Ida Foster Sistrunk. Janelle worked in Retail for several years in Forest. She was a member of the All Seasons Worship Center as she was faithful to the Church of God. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Sistrunk and Ida Foster Sistrunk; 2 sisters, Onie D. Loper and Wilma Zell Cumberland.Survivors include her three children; Nancy Kaminski (Tom) of Olive Branch, MS;Thomas Jack “Tony” Cox of Red Banks, MS and Johnny Cox (Jean) of Forest, MS; four sisters, Ruby Brantley of Sebastopol, MS, Tommie Stroud of Forest, MS, Sue LeJeune (Joe) of Bossier City, LA and Betty Dickerson of Meridian, MS and two brothers, Hubert Sistrunk (Jo) of Raymond, MS and Larry Sistrunk of Braxton, MS. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and special friend and father of her 3 children, Jack Andrew Cox.
