Janetta Gilbert

Janetta “Jo Barnes” Gilbert, 94, a resident of Jackson, MS and formerly of Carthage, MS passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Belhaven Senior Care in Jackson, MS. There will be no services at this time.

Mrs. Gilbert was born February 16, 1925 to Issac M. King and Lula Myers King. She was married to Dalton Lamar Gilbert and Sanford Barnes. Mrs. Gilbert worked as a Nurse’s Aide for many years. She loved flowers of all kinds but especially roses. Mrs. Gilbert had a special place in her heart for animals. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husbands, Dalton Lamar Gilbert and Sanford Barnes; parents, Issac M. King and Lula Myers King and by all of her siblings.

Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her children, Lisa Jo Brown and Deborah Jan Lindsay; grandchildren, Cody Nichole Lindsay and Trey (Nicole) Lindsay; great grandchildren, Dalton Paige, Leland Cox, Mercedez (Ben) Schauer and Hunter Lindsay; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
