Janis Torrence Reiner, age 71 of Brandon passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021.

A Graveside service will be 3:00pm at Oakdale Cemetery on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:30pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

She was born in Jackson, MS on October 7, 1949, to the late Gilbert Torrence and Malora Whitley Crowe.

Janis is survived by her children, Jason Reiner, Trey Scott, and Nancy Hinton (Mickey); grandchildren, Tristan Reiner, Regina Gray, Crystal Hinton, Jared Scott, and Isabella Scott; sisters, Betty Mohr (Dr. John), Polly Reid (Sammy), and Tina Bowering (Butch). A host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Torrence; mother and stepfather, Malora and Larry Crowe; and brothers, Ray Torrence and Mala Torrence; and husband David Reiner.

Janis was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived for her family, and always looked out for everyone. Janis lived a full life and traveled the world (several times). She was a smart, courageous woman who always spoke her mind.

Janis will be missed and loved forever.
