Mr. J.D. Martin, age 94, a resident of Lena passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Eureka Baptist Church from 10am-2:30pm.  Services will be held at 3pm at the church.  Burial will be in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Ted Weeks and Bro. Floyd Wingo officiating.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Martin was born in Lena, MS on May 18, 1927.  When he was able, he loved to run dogs and go fishing.  He loved watching tv and two of his favorites was western movies and wrestling.  J.D. had a 4-legged buddy that was his dog named JoJo and they loved each other very much.  Mr. Martin loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John David Martin and Mamie Renfroe Martin; wife, Ruby Dee Bowman Martin; son, Jimmy Dale Martin; Brother, Mackie B. Martin; sisters, Effie K. Thornton and Mary Anne Crockrell; half-brothers, Willie, John, Julious and Vardamen Martin; half-sisters, Mede Holmes, Mattie Smith and Melissa Guy.

He is survived by his son, John Carl Martin and wife Judy of Lena; sister, Carrie Massey of Morton; grandchildren, Marty Allen, Johnny Martin (Heather), Levety Wyndham (Ernest) and Lindsey Foster (Curtis); great grandchildren, Harley Allen, Shelby Martin, Travis Martin (Hannah), Chelsie Martin, Weston Bowman (Kinley), Hailey Bowman, Hayden Bowman, Katie Wyndham, Daniel Wyndham, Natalie Wyndham, Ayla Wyndham, Brooklyn Ladner, Wyatt Ladner, Kinlee Foster & Ella Kate Foster; 4 great great grand and 2 on the way, Roman Ford, Trip Scott, Carter Martin & Mabry Bowman; his faithful companion his dog, JoJo and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Martin, Curtis Foster, Travis Martin, Ernest Wyndham, Daniel Wyndham and Wyatt Ladner.  Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Allen, Weston Bowman and Hayden Bowman.
