Jean Horn

March 22, 1930 — January 4, 2017

Erma Jean Horn, 86, a former resident of Forest, died Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, at Woodland Court in Newton MS after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 7th from the chapel at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment at Eastern Cemetery. Rev. Jason Tillman will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

Born March 22nd, 1930, to Jimmy and Cleo Squires, Mrs. Horn was a lifelong resident of Scott County prior to her move to Woodland Court in Newton, MS. Mrs. Horn worked for The Newton Company in Newton, MS for over 40 years before retiring. After her retirement, not one for idle time, she spent several years working at Dollar General in Forest until she resigned due to health reasons.
Mrs. Horn loved spending time with her family and few things in life made her as happy as doing her absolute best to spoil each of them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Horn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Austin Horn, son, Ricky Horn, daughter, Dottie Tillman and son-in-law, Jerry Tillman.
She is survived by grandchildren; Jerry Tillman, Jason Tillman (Joni), Josh Tillman (Katy), all of Forest, Stephanie Barfield (Ricky) of Panama City Beach, FL, Tonya Dunsmore (Danny) of Gastonia, NC and daughter-in-law, Bernice Horn of Panama City Beach, FL. She is also leaves behind several great-grandchildren.
The family of Mrs. Horn wishes to express their sincere thanks to Mrs. Jimmie Nell Rawson, Mrs. Anita Nettles and her staff for the love and care they have provided throughout her residency at Woodland Court. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harperville Baptist Church Mission Fund or to Woodland Court through Legacy Living.
