Jean Sledge, 69, a resident of Brandon, MS died on Friday, April 15, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, April 18, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Parten will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Sledge was a native of Clarksdale, MS. She was the daughter of Melvin Carl Smith and Ruby Mae Lang Smith. Mrs. Sledge was an Interior Decorator for 50 years. She owned JJ’s Home Ideas. She attended Pinelake Church in Flowood, MS. She was married to Don Sledge. Mrs. Sledge enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Sledge was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Carl Smith and Ruby Mae Lang Smith.
Mrs. Sledge is survived by her husband, Don Sledge; daughter, Dianna Phillips; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Moore; brothers, Robert Smith, Melvin “Pudgey” Smith and Tony Smith; grandchildren, Mitch and Madeline Phillips and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dianna Phillips at 186 Mallard Drive, Brandon, MS 39047 to help with final expenses of Mrs. Sledge.
