Jeffrey Clayton "Sparky" Little, lovingly known as "Sparky" to those who knew and loved him best, passed away on April 16th at the age of 62. Born on August 23, 1962, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Jeff was the son of Ralph and Nell Little.
He was the devoted husband of Lisa Little, and a proud and present father to Matthew Little (Meagan Rae), Carli Little, and Lanie Herbison (Weber). Nothing brought him more joy than being "Sparky" to his treasured grandchildren—Ford, Fisher, and Georgia Little—whom he cheered on at every opportunity.
Jeff is also survived by his siblings, whom he loved deeply: sister Cheree Roan- (Greg), brother Cliff Little (Annette), and sister Jiji Pridmore (Mark). His bond with his family was strong, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time together.
Jeff worked in the poultry industry since 1989, building a respected career marked by hard work, reliability, and deep relationships. His professional life reflected the same values he carried into his home and community: consistency, humility, and a servant's heart.
A member of Pinelake Church since 2000, Jeff’s life was a reflection of his deep love for the Lord and his calling to serve others. He was the kind of man who showed up—whether with a meal, a helping hand, a booming voice of encouragement, or simply his steady presence.
He had a deep passion for Mississippi State sports, Coyote Fitness, and all things outdoors. Jeff was an avid deer hunter, a lover of the Neshoba County Fair, and a former high school and college rodeo competitor. He never missed a chance to watch his grandchildren play sports, and many in the community knew him as the iconic voice of Northwest Rankin broadcasts.
Jeff especially loved the holidays—particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas. He found pure joy in gathering family, cooking for crowds, and celebrating with those he loved most. His home during the holidays was full of warmth, laughter, and good food, just the way he liked it.
Since 2014, he served faithfully as a Fire Commissioner for the Reservoir Fire Department, living out his belief in helping wherever he was needed most.
To know Sparky was to feel welcomed, seen, and loved. His legacy is one of laughter, servant-heartedness, deep faith, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Monday, April 21st at Pinelake Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Puckett, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Delta Streets Academy, a cause that was close to Jeff's heart, at 401 George St. Greenwood, MS 38930 (Phone: 662-897-9876).
