Jennie Brooks Jones, 86, passed away Sat. July 8, 2017 at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. July 12, 2017 from 10am-11:30am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside services are 12pm on Wed. July 12, 2017 at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson, MS.
Mrs. Jones was born in Attala County, MS, was a longtime resident of Jackson, MS and has been a resident of Brandon, MS since 1998. She enjoyed working with flowers, and feeding and watching her birds. Most of all she had a special place in her heart for her pet cat she named “Momma”.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her two step sons, Lamar “Marty” Dale Jones of Lakewood, CO and Lewis Alan Jones (Julia) of Clarksville, AR; six step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Ellen Ramos. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, David L. Jones; two sisters, Sara Brooks and Mary Brooks Crosby and a brother, Wayne Irving Brooks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stonewall Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 122 Ethel, MS 39067.
