Jerry Burnett
March 14, 1944 — February 3, 2017
Jerry G. Burnett, 72, passed away on February 3, 2017 at St. Dominic's Hospital very unexpectedly. Visitation will be Sun. Feb. 5, 2017 from 2pm-5pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi. Funeral services are 12pm on Mon. Feb. 6, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with a 3pm graveside service at Burnett Cemetery in Clear Springs, MS.
Mr. Burnett was the son of the late Glen K. Burnett and Lillian Mae Burnett. He owned and worked at his safety consulting company for over 25 years. Mr. Burnett was a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl, MS where he was a deacon, taught Sunday School and served on many committees. He will be remembered by his many friends as a witty, kind and generous man, and by his children and grandchildren as his most special treasures.
Mr. Burnett is survived by his wife, Diane Coker Burnett, and they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Mr. Burnett is also survived by his son, Stacy Burnett; daughter, Robin May (Phillip); two grandchildren, Anna May and Benjamin May; three brothers, Jimmy Dale Burnett (Linda), Rudy Burnett (Mary). He is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Burnett (Lorraine). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Place Baptist Church at 5701 Hwy. 80 East Pearl, MS 39208 or to French Camp Academy at 1 Fine Pl, French Camp, MS 39745.
