Jerry M. Perry, age 76, a resident of Morton died Wednesday May 18, 2016, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am, Saturday, May 21, 2016 from the chapel of the Ott & lee Funeral Home in Morton. No graveside services will be held, the family will remain at the funeral home to visit with friends. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Friday, May 20, 2016 and again Saturday morning from 9am to 10am. Rev. Reggie Williams and Rev. Larry Duncan will officiate.
Mr. Perry was born in Mize, MS on April 23, 1940, to his parents Bilbo N. Perry and Irene V. Jones Perry. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, and retired from the Jackson Fire Dept. after 26 years of service. He then worked for the Miss. Dept. of Wildlife & Fisheries at Roosevelt State Park. He was a faithful member of East Morton Baptist Church. He enjoyed travelling, visiting his family, and friends as well as hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; Grover Perry.
Survivors include his wife, Kristine Perry of Morton, five children; Sherran Denise Perry, Michelle Macoy, Michael Perry, Steve Perry and Lisa Barron. He also leaves a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother; Larry Mitchell Perry.
Pallbearers are Curtis Warren, Clyde Lee Tatum, Danny Johnson, Jessie Ray Parker, Percy Parker and Gary Windborne. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Jackson Fire Dept. Honor Guard.
