Celebration Services for Jerry Ellis Taylor, 83, a resident of Brandon, MS will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 12, 2015 at Flowood Baptist Church, Flowood, MS. He moved to heaven on Saturday, October 10, 2015 surrounded by his family. Interment will be held in Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and again on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Flowood Baptist Church in Flowood, MS from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am

Jerry was born on October 13, 1931 in Helena, AR to J. W. and Ollie Frederick Taylor and was raised in Greenville, MS. After proudly serving in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954, he attended Ole Miss where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jerry started his career with Walker Farms Dairy in Stoneville, MS and retired with Dairymen, Inc. after 35 years of dedicated service.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the epitome of what a spiritual leader of his household should be. He enjoyed golfing and loved to sing gospel hymns. He was a devout servant of God and a member of Flowood Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Elizabeth; daughter, Alyson; his parents, J.W. and Ollie Taylor; brothers, Charles Taylor and J. W. Taylor, Jr. and son-in-law, Jerry Gildon.

He is survived by daughters, Terry Gildon of Brandon, Elizabeth (Kelly) Dugger of Fredericksburg, VA and Jennifer (Ken) Berry of Brandon. He is also survived by grandchildren, Myndall (Dennis) Delcamp of Leeds, AL, Alyson (Adam) Irby of Richland, MS, Taylor Gildon of Brandon, Jacob, Joshua and Emily Dugger of Fredericksburg, VA; and great-grandchildren, Zayne and Wyatt Irby and Ella and Elijah Delcamp; his brother, Ray S. Taylor of St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
