Jerry Wilbur Thigpen, 74, passed away Mon. Aug. 8, 2016 at his home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Aug. 11, 2016 from 10am-11am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am Thurs. Aug. 11, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with a 2:30pm graveside service to follow at the Union Line Cemetery in SoSo, MS.
Mr. Thigpen was born in Bay Springs, MS and has been a longtime resident of Brandon, MS where he was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Mr. Thigpen was a 32nd Degree Mason, enjoyed fishing and was a motor cycle enthusiast. He retired from the City of Ridgeland after 18 years of service. Mr. Thigpen was a very loving family man and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Thigpen; two sons, Curtis Lyle Thigpen (Beth) and Jerry Steven Thigpen (Michelle); sister, Linda Welch (Joel) and six grandchildren, Evan Thigpen, Max Thigpen, Thomas Thigpen, Jordan Thigpen, Taylor Thigpen and Melanie Grace Thigpen. Mr. Thigpen is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ollie Thigpen.
