Jerry Trest

Jerry Trest, age 86, and a resident of Forest passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, following an extended illness.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from the chapel of OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest. Visitation will begin at 12pm till the service time. Pastor Tim Lott will officiate. Interment will follow in the Antioch-Steele Cemetery.

 He was born Saturday, March 5, 1938, in Laurel to his parents Jenny Landrum Trest and Walter Trest. He was a member of Steele Baptist Church. Jerry was also a business owner with the General Service Company and continued work in the HVAC business until his retirement. 

 Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Roy Trest, Joe Trest, Edna Bryant, and Laura Douglas. He was also preceded in death by two children: Karen Denise Trest, and Julie Ann Trest, and grandson; Chad Harrison. 

 He is survived by his son, Jerry G. Trest of Forest, and siblings; Bobby Trest, Oliver Trest, Pat Gardner, Helen Trest, and Mary Underhill. Jerry also leaves a legacy of grandchildren: Angie Crocker (James), Zachary Crocker, Christopher Trest, Mark Trest, Melissa Sawyer, Valerie Harrison, and Tonya Carter; several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Jerry will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. 

 Pallbearers are Paul McLemore, Duran Jenkins, Eric Snellgrove, Chip McMIllian, Carl Johnson, and Bobby Jones. Honorary pallbearer is Jeff Mitchell.
