Jesse P. Adcox, 78, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and many other problems. Visitation will be 5:30-8 pm Tuesday, April 25, 2017 and 10- 10:45 am Wednesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services will follow at 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.

Jesse, formerly of Jackson and LeBourgeois Estates in Brandon was a retired Supervisor at Jackson Stone Company in Jackson. He was a member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church in Jackson and when he moved to Brandon he and Dot joined Lakeland Presbyterian Church. Jesse was a Mason, member of the Moose Lodge and a Past Grand Officer of the MS-LA United Commercial Travelers of America.

Jesse was a graduate of Byram High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army for six years. He loved coaching youth baseball teams with his son Paul (Scoot), watching Wingfield High Football and drinking that pot of coffee.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Richmond Adcox of Jackson; sister, Mecie Bennett of Columbia and brothers, Rudolph O. Adcox of Forest and John E. Adcox of TN.  Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dot Griffing Adcox; son and wife, Paul and Lynne Adcox; granddaughters, Windsor and Ashton Adcox all of Mandeville, LA.; sisters, Lynda (Frank) Martin of McComb, Carolyn (Larry) Greer of Ridgeland ; brother, Richard (Eleanor) Adcox of Clinton; sister-in-law, Martha Adcox of Forest and several wonderful nieces and nephews all over the country.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you “Hug Someone You Love Every Day”. Donations may be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157; Lakeland Presbyterian Church 5212 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 or to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
