Jewell Butler

Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Butler will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Anderson officiating.


Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Saturday at the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.


Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.


Mrs. Butler was born Friday, March 2, 1928 at Pulaski, and passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest at the age of 88. A retired supervisor from the Norman Shirt Makers, Mrs. Jewell had been a resident of this area for about twenty years, moving from Jackson. She was a faithful member of the Lorena Baptist Church where she very active in the WMU and worked in Vacation Bible School. As a testimony of her daughters, she was the sweetest, strongest, wonderful Christian woman who loved her family very much; that was the greatest priority to her.


She was preceded in death by her husband: Emmett Butler; twin grandsons: Warren Shawn Glover and Havis Paul Glover; her parents: George Cleveland and Ollie Mae Wicker Warren; one sister: Katie Davis and two brothers: Ethel Warren and Bobby Warren.


Survivors include her two daughters: Rosie (Randy) Glover of Greenwood and Betty (Eddie) Robertson of Clinton; four grandchildren: Ashley Myrick, Havis Glover, II, Alissa Murray, and Paul Robertson; two great-grandchildren: Bailey O’Dell and June Ruth Murray; four sisters: Bessie Price of Jackson; Nora C. Seales of Denver, CO; Bertie Weems of Jackson and Nancy Hollingsworth of Lake; several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Havis Glover, II, Paul Robertson, Tucker Murray, Bailey O’Dell, Ricky Warren, Terry Warren, and Brad Hollingsworth.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.


Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
