Mr. Jimmie Donald Porter, age 71 passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at the Ludlow Baptist Church Cemetery in Ludlow, MS on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm with burial to follow with Bro. Keith Mangum officiating the service. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.

Mr. Jimmie Porter was born on January 1, 1945 to his parents Otis Malcolm and Pauline "Bates" Porter in Morton, MS. He was a lifelong resident of the Morton, Scott County area and he was a member of the McDonald Baptist Church in Good Hope. Mr. Porter was self-employed as a Dry Wall Contractor until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed being with his family and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some other things he loved were hunting and fishing, tinkering on things, the great outdoors, and fellowshipping with his friends. He also loved good ole' country music and he especially loved his siblings and his twin brother Jerry who served in the military in Vietnam.

Mr. Jimmie is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Porter; son-in-law, Ronnie Thrash; and his parents Otis Malcolm Porter and Pauline "Bates" Porter.

Mr. Porter is survived by his wife, Brenda "Cockrell" Porter; his son, Jamie (JoAnn) Porter of Brandon, MS; his daughter, Felicia (Ronnie-deceased) Thrash of Morton, MS; his sisters, Gloria Rushing, Linda Hughes, Sylvia Porter, Ann McHan; his brothers, Daniel Porter, Jerry Porter, and Otis Malcolm Porter, Jr.; his grandchildren, Caty Warren, Cody Brown, Corey Brown, and Josh Porter; and great-grandchildren, Lily Brown and Asher Brown.

Pallbearers serving are Cody Brown, Corey Brown, Jamie Gilbert, Tim Gilbert, Kaleb Warren, and Timmy Lathem.
