With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Jimmy Wayne Briggs, who passed away peacefully at home in Brandon, MS, on March 16, 2025, at the age of 77. Though he is no longer with us, his love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on March 9, 1948, in Booneville, MS, Jimmy grew into a man known for his generosity, selflessness, and steadfast faith. He was a man who put others before himself, always showing up, always caring, and always offering a helping hand. His presence was steady and reassuring—whether in times of joy or sorrow, Jimmy was always there.
In 1997, he founded Capitol City Label in Pearl, MS, where his dedication and work ethic built a lasting legacy. Beyond his career, Jimmy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—his love for NASCAR, the thrill of a long car ride, the satisfaction of adding to his coin and gun collections, and the peace he found at the beach. But above all else, he treasured time with his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Ann Briggs of Brandon, MS, and their children, Kenneth Briggs (Samantha) of Brandon, MS, Sherry Goodwin (Mike) of Brandon, MS, and Pam Loland (Kevin) of Brandon, MS. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his sister, Lula Ellsworth (Donnie), and his brother, Danny Briggs (Brenda). Jimmy is now reunited in heaven with his parents, Effie and Harvie Briggs.
A godly man with a kind and compassionate heart, Jimmy touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of love and unwavering support will live on through the countless memories he created with those he held dear.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Ott and Lee in Brandon, MS, on Friday, March 21, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a service to follow. He will be laid to rest at Rehobeth Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing that Jimmy is resting in the arms of the Lord. His love, his laughter, and his gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
