James L “Jimmy” Fisher
Jimmy Fisher of Brandon, Mississippi, was born in Memphis on September 6, 1956, and was taken to be with the Lord on August 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with a long-time illness.
He was the only son and third child of Don and Sara (Moore) Fisher. He was a “Joy of Joyland” and attended Whitehaven School for twelve years, graduating in 1975. There he ran cross country and track and was a member of Young Life. He grew up attending Whitehaven United Methodist Church where he was a boy scout and a member of the MYF.
Jimmy worked in the automotive field for most of his life, most lately for CarMax, and he loved watching motor sports, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. Jimmy was full of fun and is remembered for his smile, his friendliness, and the sparkle in his eyes.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara West, and his grandparents, P L and Olga Fisher, and James and Thersa Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife of two years, Becky Morris Fisher of Jackson, MS; two daughters, Judi Warman (Dave) of Sellersburg, IN, and Jamie Robinson (Adam) of Bartlett, TN; two step daughters, Melissa Morris of Brandon, MS; and Jennifer Taylor (Brandon) of Clinton, MS; his father and step-mother, Don and Elaine Fisher of Halls, TN; three sisters, Kathy Mehlhorn, Donna Miller, and Linda Calaway; a step-sister, Donna Orr; a step-brother, Robert Jones; and two grandchildren, Audrey Warman and Chase Robinson.
A separate memorial service will be held at Bartlett United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and the service at 2:00 p.m.
