Jimmy Wayne Gatewood

Mr. Jimmy W. Gatewood, age 59, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Neshoba General Hospital.

Jimmy was born on March 31, 1965, to Wayne Gatewood and Katherine Sasnett in Morton and lived in and around Scott County for most of his life. Jimmy enjoyed working, he had a love for the outdoors where he was an avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed listening to the 90’s rock music.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Gatewood and Katherine Sasnett, brother, Steve Gatewood.

Jimmy is survived by wife, Tanya Gatewood, four children, Amanda Lott (J.J.), Eric Gatewood (Ashley), Chris Gatewood (Christina), and Adam Gatewood, and five grandkids. Four stepchildren, Azure Henning, Austin Harrell, Justin Harrell. Five siblings, Robert Gatewood (Joann), Elgin Gatewood, Dennis Gatewood, Kevin Gatewood, Tammy Usea (Sherman) Michelle Johnson (Keith), Brandi Fredricks, Jessica Hamilton, and Dottie Gatewood.

Visitation was on Thursday, May 2,2024 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Jimmy’s Funeral Service was Friday, May 3, 2024, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS, with Bro. John Goodhue Officiating. Interment was in Morton Memorial Gardens.
