Jimmy L. Myrick, 77, of Brandon, MS, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Services will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS on Saturday, March 25th with visitation at 10:00 am and a memorial service at 11:00 am.
Jim was born August 27, 1939 in Oak Grove, LA. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) and worked in various financial and sales roles in multiple automobile dealerships for 27 years. At 57, he became a licenced Health Care Administrator and assisted families in both MS and LA.
During Jim's younger years, he participated in sports and horseback riding. He always enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid sportsman throughout his life. His priorities were faith and family. Jim regularly attended church, and he enjoyed singing in the choirs of his churches in Oak Grove, Monroe, Winnsboro, and Brandon. Jim also sang in Barbershop Harmony choruses and quartets in both Monroe, LA, and Jackson, MS. Jim spent quality time with his family and enjoyed activities with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrna Myrick; daughter, Kimberly Favaloro (Guy W. Favaloro) of Destrehan, LA; son, Michael Myrick of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Jeffrey Favaloro, Kathryn Favaloro and Addison Dempsey; brother, Ronnie Myrick (Cathy) of Monroe, LA; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W. Spencer and Marie Myrick of Oak Grove and Baton Rouge, LA.
